County Commissioner Danny Tarkanian has proudly called Nevada home for nearly 50 years. He and his wife, Amy, have raised four children here and built their lives around service to state and community.
A graduate of Bishop Gorman High School, Danny earned high honors from UNLV and graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law.

Danny’s entrepreneurial spirit is reflected in the Tarkanian Basketball Academy, Nevada’s largest private nonprofit sports facility, where thousands of youth have learned life lessons through sports. He also developed the Tarkanian Professional Center, a 100,000-square-foot commercial hub that not only weathered Nevada’s real estate collapse but emerged stronger.
Public service runs deep in Danny’s family. His grandmother, Rose, escaped the Armenian Genocide in pursuit of the American Dream. His father, Jerry, became a legendary NCAA basketball coach and national champion, and his mother, Lois, broke barriers in education and civic leadership—founding California’s first private school for hard-of-hearing students, serving on the Clark County School Board and Las Vegas City Council, and currently serving as a Nevada University Regent.
Danny’s own journey in public service began in 2004 as the Republican nominee for State Senate. In 2016, he was the GOP nominee for Congress in the nation’s most expensive House race, losing by just 1%. In 2020, he was elected to the Douglas County Commission, where he has delivered innovative, impactful services to his constituents, earning praise from hundreds of residents who’ve personally thanked him for his work.

Restore Law and Order
Make public safety a top priority by cracking down on crime and ensuring Nevada’s streets and communities are safe. He’ll support tough-on-crime policies and end the culture of leniency that has emboldened criminals.
Support Law Enforcement
Danny will be an unwavering ally to police officers, sheriffs, and state troopers across the state. He’ll give law enforcement the tools, resources, and respect they need to do their jobs—and push back against anti-police rhetoric and policies.
Defend Our Constitution
Danny will put a stop to the political weaponization of the Attorney General’s office, especially the targeting of the Trump Administration and the obstruction of Governor Lombardo’s agenda. He’ll root out partisan abuse of power in the legal system.
End Left-Wing Lawfare and Political Persecution
As Attorney General, Danny will vigorously defend the U.S. and Nevada Constitutions. He’ll fight federal overreach and protect citizens’ fundamental freedoms.

Protecting Election Integrity & Combating Voter Fraud
Nevada’s election laws were significantly altered during COVID, creating vulnerabilities that undermine public confidence in our elections. Secure elections are the foundation of self-government.
As Attorney General, I will make election integrity a top priority by:
- Investigating credible allegations of voter fraud and election law violations
- Enforcing Nevada’s election laws fully and fairly
- Holding accountable anyone who compromises the integrity of our elections
Nevadans deserve elections that are transparent, secure, and worthy of the public’s trust.
Enforcing Immigration Laws & Supporting Law Enforcement
The United States is a nation of laws. Immigration laws exist to protect public safety, national security, and the rule of law.
As Attorney General, I will:
- Cooperate with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, including ICE
- End policies that obstruct lawful immigration enforcement
- Ensure Nevada is not a sanctuary for criminal activity
Law enforcement works best when agencies work together. My office will do exactly that.
Ending DEI Programs & Upholding Equal Protection Under the Law
The Constitution guarantees equal protection under the law, not special treatment based on race, gender, or ideology.
Government-mandated DEI programs violate that principle by favoring some citizens over others. As Attorney General, I will:
- Oppose discriminatory DEI mandates in public institutions
- Enforce existing civil rights and equal-protection laws
- Hold government entities accountable when they violate constitutional protections
Nevada will return to merit, fairness, and equal justice for all—no carve-outs, no exceptions.
Defending Women’s Rights & Biological Reality
Women and girls deserve fairness, privacy, and safety. These rights are non-negotiable.
As Attorney General, I will enforce laws that:
- Protect women’s sports from biological males
- Preserve single-sex spaces such as locker rooms, bathrooms, and shelters
- Reject policies that sacrifice women’s rights to ideological pressure
I will unapologetically stand up for women and girls and push back against radical gender policies that place ideology above common sense, safety, and fairness.
